D.I.Y. Homemade Facial Masks for Acne Scars

Everyone’s skin is different. We struggle on a daily basis to keep it clean, hydrated, smooth, and so much more. That is just the struggle with our skin because it’s such a complicated and complex material. When it comes to the skin on our face, we face an entirely different level of annoyance. It can be oily, dry, or a combination of both. You can have acne scars, dark circles, and even wrinkles. Whatever skin care technique you are trying, the best and least expensive is the one you make yourself at home.

When we are children and face acne, we usually buy tons of products from the pharmacy to try and solve the problems. Those generally work, but the end result is scarring and visibility of the old acne spot. A homemade mask is usually refreshing, can be very inexpensive, and works. Also you can try out different methods and see what works best for your skin.

Cucumbers are known to most as a calorie-free diet snack. They can also be combined with natural ingredients to create a refreshing facial mask. If you’ve ever seen actresses wearing cucumbers on their eyes, know it’s not just a fake remedy. Cucumbers have large amounts of nutrients, like vitamin A and potassium. Not only do they make your skin glow when eaten, but direct contact is soothing as well. If you mix cucumbers and oats, and add some lemon, you will get an acne mask that not only soothes your skin, but also helps with oily skin sufferers. This mask can be used for acne scars, and is one of the more popular homemade facial masks.

Another homemade facial mask involves avocado. When in season, avocado is vast and can be found pretty much anywhere around the country. Avocados have large amounts of antioxidants that are occasionally used in cosmetics. You can either use the avocado on its own to make a mask to clarify the skin, or you can make the exfoliation with the avocado spread. Just mix together lemon juice, egg whites, oatmeal and the pulp of the avocado. After the scrub is made, spread on the face and neck and leave for fifteen minutes. Rinse off, and you should see not only a squeaky clean complexion, but also a more even skin tone.

You can even use the avocado peel as a moisturizer. Spread it on your face and let the oils soak into the skin. Massage them upward into the skin for a few moments and then let sit for approximately ten minutes. Rinse with warm water, and enjoy your beautiful silky skin.
