Oils: The good and the bad

Yeah, we all love to cook and most of us probably don’t care about the cooking oil we use. It turns out that choosing the right kind of cooking oil matters in our health. You probably don’t know this but there are actually plenty of oils to choose from which can be good or bad for you.

Bad oils have are rich trans-fat and saturated fats that makes it harmful for our health. Its content is high in LDL (low density lipoprotein) that obstructs your arteries. You don’t want to risk yourself having a stroke, do we? Here’s a list of the bad ones; Lard, butter, palm oil, margarine, coconut oil, and vegetable shortening.

Good oils benefit our body because it has mono and poly-unsaturated fats, omega-3 and omega-6 that are helpful in our diet and their good for the heart too. You can choose from the varieties of oil coming from; flaxseed, olive, canola, corn, soy, grape seed, sunflower and sesame.
